Day 1 — Arrival in Rome
Meet your guide and enjoy an orientation tour of the city. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 2 — Rome: Major Basilicas
Begin your pilgrimage at St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world, built on the site of St. Peter’s martyrdom. Venerate relics including a piece of the True Cross and the lance that pierced Christ’s side. Continue to the other three major basilicas: St. Mary Major – one of the oldest shrines dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, housing a relic from the manger of the Infant Jesus. St. John Lateran – the former papal residence, site of five ecumenical councils, and home to the remains of four saints. St. Paul Outside the Walls – resting place of St. Paul, with relics and the chains that once bound him. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 3 — Historical Rome
Tour the Eternal City’s iconic landmarks: Piazza Venezia, the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, Roman Forum, and the Coliseum. Continue to Circus Maximus and ascend Janiculum Hill for panoramic views of Rome’s Seven Hills. Optional evening excursion: Rome by Night. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 4 — Papal Audience
Attend the Papal Audience (subject to availability) in St. Peter’s Square. Visit the St. Peter’s Basilica. Afternoon free time near Vatican. Optional visit to the Vatican Museum.
Day 5 — Full-day excursion to Assisi birthplace of St. Francis
Visit to the Basilica of St. Francis, the Basilica of St. Clare, the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the medieval town centre. Return to Rome for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 — Departure for USA
Transfer to airport. Depart with lasting memories of the Eternal City and its profound spiritual heritage.
